Hi, Patrik here. I've got a new watch face for you – Material Digital InfoGuy. He's a little robot who always has your latest data at hand, so he quickly becomes a trusty sidekick. And he looks good doing it – I took my inspiration from Android's Material Design.
The idea: build a whole figure out of nothing but complications. His head is the time, split into two colourful "eyes". A badge on his neck holds a short message. His arms are pills, each with its own number and icon — steps, heart rate, whatever you like. His torso is a ring that fills up with your battery or a goal. And his legs carry two more small badges, so there's always room for one more thing you care about.
• NECK — a short text or icon complication.
• ARMS (left & right) — a value + icon each: steps, heart rate, calories, weather, anything numeric.
• TORSO — a ring gauge: battery, a goal, or any ranged value.
• LEGS (left & right) — two more complications of your pick.
When the screen goes always-on, InfoGuy quietly traces himself in thin outline to save your battery, and a small number appears at his centre whenever you've got an unread notification — so you don't even need to wake the screen to check.
And I finally got around to a whole new colour system for him: 12 two-tone Material Design themes (Reef, Graphite, Slate, Lagoon, Amethyst, Twilight, Harvest, Meadow, Rosegold, Forest, Poppy, Admiral) — one colour for the shapes, a distinct accent for every value and icon, so nothing ever gets lost in the crowd. Reef is my own — the exact palette he was designed around, my favourite colours.
No accounts, no ads, no data flying anywhere. It just sits on your watch and does its thing.
