As immersive as you allow it to be. The framework of the game is very outdated, but it gets the job done. Still a lot to be desired (better achievement system would be a great start), but I'm afraid a new game would have to be created to get a much better experience. Addictive, gets you out, gets you walking/running, and there are people playing it almost everywhere if you want to socialize. Amazing game.

Long time player of the game, and it has brought me more fun and exercise than just about anything I can think of. Picking it back up post 2020, so much has changed. some good, some interesting, but it has become so heavily microtransactional it's hard to look past it. I love the game, but it feels like they are trying to FOMO me at every corner, and slowly pulling back the "free" features as time goes on. It hurts like losing a friend.

I have been playing since 2016, but with the sale of the game to Scopely I am for the first time seriously considering stopping, as it feels like monetization is becoming baked into the game's mechanics. I am willing to pay for a little something extra, but overlapping Go Passes and the option to pay for increased shiny rates after slashing the base chance ain't it. So far, nothing that has happened has killed my core gameplay loop, but it is a shame to see this predation in a Pokemon game.
