never played the board game, first time playing this. I don't recommend this for a phone, the constant having zoom in on cards to read text is annoying. plus, often times, the 'play' button obscure text that tells the effect of the card. I skipped the tutorial and chose easy, The computer beat me first time out, but it was close, so it doesn't seem like the computer is unbeatable, which is a good thing if playing solo. Might be more enjoyable on a tablet.

Played this as an adult and enjoyed it very much. It's surprisingly challenging without being frustrating. I do wish that we could turn up the game speed though, it makes playing story mode and against multiple ai more tedious than it needs to be. I know it's intended for strategy but I really do not need to watch the ai make every single move. Leave that for multiplayer please. That said, the game is otherwise really fun, with a nice learning curve that's decently to easy to figure out.

So I do enjoy this game much more for tabletop than digitally. This game is pretty dead for online. Everdell is way better in so many capacities. In Welcome you have to remember to click End Turn, which is a bit annoying. I cannot get anyone to stay for a whole game. Very slow pace compared to Everdell. I do not recommend. Buy Everdell instead. But it has its charms. If you really love Everdell world then buy this game for the "campaign". That is a lot of fun.
